Scott Harrison worked in three secondary schools before becoming a Humanities Adviser and, from 1990-2009, an HMI. His roles during that time included inspection of primary and secondary schools, colleges and initial teacher education. Scott was also Ofsted’s Specialist Adviser for history, Specialist Adviser for citizenship and Assistant Divisional Manager for the subject survey programme.
Scott now works as a consultant on a wide range of educational projects. These have included Ofsted survey and initial teacher education inspections and, currently, the quality assurance of inspection reports. Increasingly, Scott has been involved in Academy reviews, both at whole-school and subject levels. Lately, this includes leading a peer review of Academies and schools within a single Local Authority. He has also been working overseas, for the DfE in European Union Schools and for inspection contractors in Abu Dhabi. He has voluntary commitments as a school governor and is Chair of Trustees at the Association for Citizenship Teaching.
