Theresa has extensive experience working in business and administration for not-for-profit organisations spanning 30 years. Eleven of these years have been within the Education sector supporting schools on governance and related matters.
Theresa began her career within the Planning Department of Haringey Council working as Team administrator and was instrumental in setting up a planning enquiry office. From there she moved on to initiate the 10 year regeneration development programme as the Operations Manager to The Bridge NDC (New Deal for Communities). While at the NDC she provided support to the Programme Partnership Board and covered many other roles including lead contact for Health and Safety issues, complaints and FoIs. Prior to the end of the programme Theresa moved on to manage a ‘buy back’ governor support service within Enfield Council.
In 2000 Theresa completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies at Oxford Brookes University and in 2007 gained the ILM certificate in Leadership and Management. More recently she completed the DfE’s National Clerks Development programme, complementing her work in supporting boards and board meetings.
Making the business of governance more efficient and effective is a passion of Theresa’s and she sits on the steering group of a professional body called the London Region of Coordinators of Governor Services, part of the national body which has representation on the Advisory Group for Governance Chaired by the Undersecretary of State for Education. Theresa is fully committed to equality of opportunity and inclusive practice, and how it impacts on service delivery.
