In June 2015 the Governors at Portslade Aldridge Community Academy  announced the appointment of Katie Scott as the new Principal at PACA, in succession to Peter Marchant. Katie took up her role in September 2015.

Katie, who lives in Brighton with her daughter, joined from  Sir Robert Woodard Academy in Lancing where she was Vice Principal. She had been a member of senior leadership teams in schools in London and Sussex for the  ten years prior to her appointment.

Writing in the academy’s 2017/18 prospectus Katie said: “At PACA our mission is to provide the highest quality of teaching and learning for all of our students from years 7-11 and in the Sixth Form. Our results have been consistently improving for over three years so that we now sit in the top 5% nationally for schools with a similar profile. This rapid transformation is one that we are extremely proud of and one that is a result of having an extraordinary team of teachers, support staff, students and families working in partnership together.”

“Learning at PACA happens within and beyond the classroom and involves far more than the formal, taught curriculum. We aim to produce ‘expert learners’ with the entrepreneurial skills, attributes and confidence to navigate through higher education and the many employment opportunities that will be available to them in the future.”
