Brighton Aldridge Community Academy welcomed its first 4 legged friend into the academy…. Grace the whippet.
Grace spent her first full day at BACA meeting staff and students and getting to know her way around. She will initially join the Academy’s Swan Centre each Friday. The Centre is an inclusive provision for students with speech, language and communication needs or autistic spectrum conditions. It aims to enable students to access mainstream secondary education, both within the curriculum and the social environment. Students attend 80% of lessons in mainstream education and visit the Swan Centre for a specialist programme tailored to their individual needs.
After being introduced to Swan Centre students Grace will be extending her work with other students in the school who would most benefit from spending time with her.
Grace is 9 years old, gentle, friendly and very relaxed. She received a very warm welcome on her first day and everyone at the Academy is already looking forward to spending more time with her.
