The four Aldridge Community Academies again took advantage of Global Entrepreneurship Week in November to showcase the entrepreneurial skills of students and staff, and take the entrepreneurship message out into their communities.

Darwen Aldridge Community Academy (DACA) won nine ‘high impact’ awards for Global Entrepreneurship Week – running events that reached over 11000 people in the week. The finale of the week was the spectacular Darwen Light Night where the skies and buildings of Darwen were illuminated in a dazzling spectacular delivered through a partnership between the Academy, local businesses and Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council.

This year’s Global Entrepreneurship Week Aldridge Acadmies challenge, Operation Moonbase, ran across all of our Academies in partnership with Enabling Enterprise on Wednesday 20th November, with the final hosted by Royal & Sun Alliance in London on the 29th.

BACA, PACA, DACA and IPACA all sent teams and all gave really excellent presentations. DACA won the competition having delivered a presentation that scored the top points with both RSA judges.
