Brighton Digital Media Academy Welcomes Industry Partners At Launch Event

On Tuesday 2 June Brighton Digital Media Academy (BDMA) hosted a launch event for 75 business partners from over 30 organisations at Brighton Aldridge Community Academy (BACA).

The event was in celebration of the opening of the BDMA, which officially launches in September 2015. BDMA offers a unique partnership between industry and education giving students ages 14-19 real life, practical experience as they gain academic qualifications. Students from across the city can access this unique programme through both BACA and Portslade Aldridge Community Academy.

Guests were welcomed by a range of presenters who shared the vision of this new offer including; Dylan Davies – Principal at BACA, Itziar Leighton – Head of BDMA, Fiona Adams – Curriculum Advisor at BDMA, Claire Webster – Director of Entrepreneurship at BACA, and Angi Martin – CEO of Latest TV, BDMA’s founding partner.
BACA and PACA students played a vital role in the evening as they met partners, interviewed guests about why they are looking forward to working with BDMA, and the students were interviewed themselves by Latest TV.

BACA BDMA studentsA wide range of creative and digital media partner organisations were in attendance including; Brighton Youth Film Festival, Ricochet, Thoughtshift, Epic Unknown, Contrast Collective, Syncscreen, Propellernet, Brighton Film School, Brightwave and more.

It was an inspiring evening with attendees excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for our city’s young people.
