Former Student Gives HRH the Low-Down On Entrepreneurship

Date: March 23rd 2018

Former Brighton Aldridge Community Academy student TJ Kibble gave the Academy a ringing endorsement speaking to HRH Prince Andrew at the opening of Bristol Business School’s new buildings this week.

TJ is an undergraduate student at the University of West England and was amongst students introduced to the Duke of York as HRH opened University’s flagship £55 million business building. The Duke met students in the Team Entrepreneurship Hub, the home of a degree course dedicated to giving students the practical experience to launch and run their own ventures.

Speaking to the Team Entrepreneurship students Prince Andrew asked them if school had prepared them for being enterprising and taking their degree? The answer was a resounding no, apart from 1st year  student TJ, who told the Prince that his experience at the Academy enabled him to practice team working and engage in enterprising activities, and as a result, he felt well-prepared for his degree programme!

At the event Donna Whitehead, Pro Vice Chancellor and Executive Dean of Bristol Business School & Bristol Law School announced that the University is establishing a new research institute in partnership with the Aldridge Foundation, the Aldridge Institute for Enterprise and Entrepreneurship.
