Portslade Aldridge Community Academy Principal Named Brighton’s Head Of The Year

Portslade Aldridge Community Academy Principal James Fox was voted Brighton’s Head Teacher of the Year at The Brighton Argus Newspaper’s Youth in Action Education Awards.

The Youth in Action Education Awards ceremony took place at the American Express Community Stadium on Sunday 8 June.  They recognise and celebrate achievement in schools in the daily papers circuation area across Sussex. The Head Teacher of the Year award was sponsored by Hays Education.

The Brighton Argus wrote: “Since joining in 2013 James Fox has had an outstanding impact on Portslade Aldridge Community Academy (PACA). Named in the top 10 improved schools in the country due to a 21% rise in GCSE results with 60% students gaining 5 A*to C grades in 2013 up from 39% in 2012, PACA has been significantly turned around from a school that was close to special measures. With the improvements at PACA continuing to grow, Mr Fox insists he is only just getting started in Portslade.”

On accepting the award James said: “It’s absolutely fantastic and I feel really honoured.I’m never satisfied until absolutely everyone has done their best. Onwards a nd upwards for the future.”
