Portslade Students Quiz Artificial Intelligence Professor

Portslade Aldridge Community Academy students spent an evening at the University of Sussex this week, at a lecture on artificial intelligence by the famous Professor Maggie Boden, The Research Professor of Cognitive Science helped develop the world’s first academic programme in cognitive science, and gave PACA students a riveting presentation was followed by a Q and A session in which students made the most of the opportunity to ask all of their most searching questions.

PACA governor and Senior Teaching Fellow at the University, Dr Simon Thompson, also hosted the students during their visit and said “I has never seen students to be so involved in a lecture, taking notes throughout and be so attentive all the way through. The questions they asked were very interesting and engaging.”

Professor Boden is a research professor of cognitive science at the Department of Informatics, where her work involves the various disciplines of artificial intelligence, psychology, philosophy, cognitive and computer science.
