Congratulations to Year 13 students at all of our schools for their A-Level and AS results today. Darwen and Brighton Academies both achieved a 100% pass rate, beating the national average!
At Darwen Aldridge Community Academy Principal Brendan Loughran said:
“Everyone at the Academy is delighted for our A Level students and very pleased with the results that they have received. Great credit must go to the students for their hard work over the course of their studies and to the staff for their dedication and commitment.
Despite the indications that the assessments would be more rigorous this year, our students have achieved grades above their targets and in many cases above their predicted grades. It already looks like the majority of our students who intended to progress to University have secured their places.”
The first full A-Level results for Brighton Aldridge Community Academy’s newer sixth form saw it first students moving on to university. Head of 6th Form, James Collett commented: “Students and staff have worked extremely hard and deserve their successes. These are excellent outcomes for our students and we wish them every success for the future. We are also thrilled at the increasing number of students who are choosing BACA 6th Form.”
At Darwen Aldridge Enterprise Studio, which opened last September, most courses are two year with no intermediate results published this year. However, in the one exception, Photography, students and staff were also celebrating a 100% pass rate.
Finally at Portslade Aldridge Community Academy 100% of students achieved 3 or more A-Levels or equivalents. The overall A- E pass rate rose again this year to over 97%.
