DfE Praises Teacher Training Initiative

Date: April 19th 2017

Aldridge Education has launched an exciting new teacher training initiative for members of staff at our academy schools.

The “TAMLA” programme is initially being offered to Middle Leaders and aspiring Middle leaders in the Trust’s North West Cluster of schools and has been developed by Leadership Director Lindy Barclay with Education Director Andrew Weymouth.

Fourteen teachers from our four academies in Darwen – DACA, DAES, Darwen Vale and Sudell Primary – (pictured above) have been selected for the three part modular course, with Aldridge certification on successful completion at the end of it. A robust training programme has been designed to develop and improve the performance of the trainees with emphasis on sharing excellent practice and working with colleagues across the range of Aldridge Academies.

TAMLA has already been commended by the Department for Education in their recent visit to Darwen Vale. It has also attracted interest, and demand from, the Principals of other Aldridge Academies and plans are being developed to roll out to staff in our South East cluster of schools next.
