The opening of the new University Technical College (UTC) at MediaCityUK, Salford Quays, moves a step closer this month as the college has its first open evening for prospective students and their parents.
The event is being staged at The Egg, a unique gallery at the University of Salford, one of the four sponsors of UTC@MediaCityUK. It is taking place on Monday 25th September 2013 from 6pm to 8pm.
Guests will hear presentations from some of the leading figures behind the UTC, take a tour of the University of Salford’s purpose-built facilities for the emerging creative industries that the UTC’s students will also have access to, and register their interest in applying for a place.
Throughout the evening there will be the chance to put questions to the education professionals from the UTC’s sponsors about the creative and digital courses on offer to 14-19 year olds, the UTC’s commitment to help students be work-ready for a career in this fast-growing sector, and the employer partners who will work side-by-side with the UTC to help students develop the skills that employers are crying out for.
The UTC will also be announcing the winner of its Graphics & Design ID-UTC competition, where student’s can will £150 of Amazon vouchers designing an ident for its Graphics & Design specialism using a wide range of media.
