Year 7 Maddy’s Interview Wows BBC Sussex

Over the Easter break Brighton Aldridge Community Academy student Maddy Luckhurst was presented with a trophy for winning the regional finals of the Rotary Club’s National Young Writers Competition.

Maddy was interviewed by BBC Radio Sussex about her achievement and her entry about starting secondary school at BACA and “being yourself.”

Year 7 Maddy told BBC listeners; “When I was younger I did not really understand what it felt like to be proud of myself. I did not have the freedom in my learning that I have today.”

BBC presenter Jake Tyler was clearly bowled over by Maddy’s interview, describing it on air as “absolutely beautiful and really inspirational.”
