Developing Enterprising Skills

We want all our schools to be ambitious and entrepreneurial – inside and outside of the classroom. This means that at Aldridge schools our emphasis on enterprising skills provides context for all learning that takes place and every aspect of academic life. The Attributes, developed by the Aldridge Foundation from Sir Rod Aldridge’s experience and beliefs, help our students achieve in their education and acquire further vital skills for adult life.

The Aldridge Attributes are:

The ability to express and interpret challenges, concepts, thoughts, feelings, facts and opinions

The ability to look at things in a new way, and seek different solutions

Not being afraid to try something new or do something differently

The movement towards a goal, and resilience to difficulties along the way

The drive to achieve and succeed

A co-ordinated effort on the part of a team or in the interests of a common cause

The impact of the Aldridge Attributes on the education our schools offer is best shown through the lives it has changed. You can read some case studies of Aldridge students talking about this themselves here. These young people, brimming with potential, have been inspired to make a difference to their lives and the lives of those around them.
