Become a Governor

Become a Governor

Their future - in your hands.

Are you passionate about your community and education? Then join Aldridge Education as a school governor and help shape the future of young people across our family of schools in the North West, London and Brighton.

What does a governor do?

Governors are part of a Local Governing Committee (LGC), working collectively to provide strategic oversight and support to school leadership. You’ll play an important role in helping ensure every child receives the best possible education  - working alongside staff, students and parents to make that happen.

As a governor, you’ll be part of a team that:

  • Champions excellence: reviewing progress against our School Risk Register and Action Plan, supporting school improvement and removing barriers to success.
  • Boosts community engagement: helping our schools connect with local partners, build meaningful relationships and raise their profile.
  • Gets involved in school life: visiting termly, seeing the culture in action and experiencing the impact of your contribution.
  • Shapes the future: attending six LGC meetings a year, reviewing key documents, asking questions and using data to drive improvement.

Why become a governor?

Joining us as a school governor is your chance to make a genuine difference.

  • Make an impact: directly influence outcomes for children and young people.
  • Collaborate with passionate people: work alongside dedicated staff, governors and leaders.
  • Grow and learn: develop new skills, expand your network and gain valuable governance experience.

What we’re looking for
