Instructional Coaching – expert training and support

At Growing Together, we are passionate about using instructional coaching to drive whole school growth and improvement. Launched across Aldridge Education in 2019, Paul Bambrick Santoyo’s See it, Name it, Do it model is a central part of our daily development work.

The real purpose of observation and feedback is not to evaluate a

teacher, but to develop them.

Too often, a teacher is left to navigate the complexities of teaching alone. With the support of an expert, instructional coaching can be used to support staff to develop a toolkit of key strategies to flourish in the classroom. We believe in modelling, breaking down strategies into granular steps and the importance of planning and deliberate practice. These principles are at the heart of our instructional coaching model.

What training is available?

Our team of expert trainers are available to support coaching and develop coaching systems across Aldridge Education and external partners. We have been privileged to support schools nationally with such activities as:

• Training new instructional coaches in See it, Name it, Do it.
• Bespoke remote feedback on coaching scripts and videos.
• Follow-up refresher training sessions on key areas of the coaching model. These are developed in response to your organisation’s strengths and gaps. We find sessions work best as a series of responsive twilight sessions over time for continual development
• Coaching and support for implementing real-time feedback.
• Training leaders to be able to coach their coaches.
• Support for Coaching Leads on implementation and establishing new coaching structures and systems.
• General coaching advice and consultancy.

Upcoming Events

If you are new to coaching and are interested in being trained, we have some scheduled training for new coaches coming up. We would also welcome ITT and ECT mentors who want to strengthen their support for those new to the profession.
