“I have had the best two years” – UTC film-makers thank college on results day

UTC@MediaCityUK Principal Colin Grand said: “The UTC is celebrating a strong set of results with students heading towards some fantastic career and university destinations. The majority of the students have studied at the UTC since joining in Year 10 at age 14, we have worked closely together in our college community and we see this as a real milestone for many who are the first in their families to study at university.
Nicole Ablott is celebrating a Double Distinction Star and A* in Film Studies. With an outstanding set of results, Nicole has accepted a dream position working with Disney!   Nicole says “the UTC gave me the motivation to put myself forward for the job I now have as a set production assistant on Indiana Jones for Disney!”
Hannah Wilson, Lauren Dewhurst, and Millie Fraser, who have already set up their own Film Production Company - Trinity - enjoyed fantastic exam success with the trio of students achieving Distinction Stars in their L3 BTEC Film & TV. Millie said “I have had the best two years and the UTC has helped to stretch my creative skills.”
Lauren agreed stating that “my teachers have helped to push me to get the grades I wanted.” Hannah was also pleased and commented “the UTC has helped me to perfect my craft and allowed me to create content that not only educates but also entertains.”
Colin Grand added: “We are so proud of this 'Trinity' of success! and delighted with the outcomes for all of our students. They absolutely deserve the grades they have achieved this year. I would like to congratulate our Year 13 students on their amazing levels of professionalism and resilience this year. It has been a pleasure to work with every student.”
