“The school has been such good fun” – Studio Students Celebrate GCSE results
Darwen Aldridge Enterprise Students are celebrating a set of results that demonstrate consecutive improvement across the board for the fourth year running.
The school, which specialises in industry focussed Creative, Computing and Care sector courses, and saw great outcomes in Media Production, where 64% of students achieved high grades, and Photography, where 95% of students achieved 4 grade or better - with over 50% achieving top grades 8 and 9.
Pip Kosyl (Y11 student) is thrilled with her set of results that include English Language grade 9, English Language grade 7, Photography grade 7 and Film Production graded Distinction. Pip stated “I’m delighted with my results, I intent to continue my study at the Studio in 6th form. The school has been such good fun, it is really different to study in such a grown-up setting, teachers are so supportive.”
Emelia Wilson-Worswick is another student who has achieved a really pleasing set of results with grade 8 in Photography, Distinction in Creative Media and grade 6s in English language and literature. Emelia commented “The Studio school is like a family, I have made some really great friends here and I’m really pleased with my grades. I look forward to 6th form!”
Principal, Colin Grand stated “Our students have worked exceptionally hard this year and can be proud of what they have achieved. We look forward to seeing our students progress into our 6th form. All students join the Studio at age 13/14 with a career focus in our specialisms, and it is fantastic to see such motivated and career-driven young people putting down foundations of good GCSE results.”
