UTC Principal praises students’’ fantastic level of professionalism

UTC@MediaCityUK students are celebrating a set of results that demonstrates the fantastic level of professionalism they have applied to their studies.


The school, which specialises in creative and digital tech courses, has achieved a set of results that includes great outcomes, including in Media & TV Production where there was a 100% pass rate with 70% of students achieving a merit and over a 3rd achieving the top distinction/distinction* grade. Photography and Graphics students were also strong achievers, with 70% achieving grade 5 and above. 


Year 11 student Jack Williams was thrilled with his set of results that included TV & Film production at Distinction*, English Language grade 9, English Language grade 9, Photography & Graphic Art both at grade 7. Jack said: “I’m delighted with my results. I intent to continue my study at the UTC in 6th form.” 


Kareena Mistry is another student celebrating with grade Distinction* in TV & Film production and strong passes in all courses. Kareena commented: “I’m really pleased with my grades. I’m so happy! I’m looking forward to 6th form study.” 


Principal Colin Grand stated: “Our students have worked exceptionally hard this year and can be proud of what they have achieved. I’m very proud of them, in particular our SEND students who have overcome challenges to achieve in line with non-SEND students. We look forward to seeing our students progress into our 6th form. It is a pleasure to see such motivated and career driven young people putting down foundations of good GCSE results.”
