UTCW FIRST Tech Challenge UK National Final

£1,000. Two teams. One national stage.
UTC Warrington’s robotics teams are heading to the FIRST Tech Challenge UK National Final - and they’re going in with serious momentum thanks to a vital £1,000 investment from AXIOM Joint Venture!
The sponsorship is powering the next phase of their journey, funding critical equipment to design, build and push their robots to the limit ahead of the big stage.
And what a journey it’s been: earlier this month, the two UTCW teams saw amazing success at the regional competition in Liverpool:
🏆 North West Champions – UTC Warrington's Technically Wired
🌟 Technically Wired were also the Inspire Award winners – recognised as ambassadors and role models in STEM
🤖 Winning Alliance title – secured by UTC Warrington's Wired Technically, for the best performance during the competitive matches.
Three major wins!
But this is about more than accolades. These students are operating like real engineering teams - designing, coding, problem-solving and pitching ideas with professionalism that impressed industry partners enough to secure direct investment.
As AXIOM JV put it, this is exactly what the future of engineering talent looks like:
“We were blown away by the professionalism and tenacity of UTC Warrington’s Technically Wired team. Their Dragon’s Den style pitch to our teams was sensational and secured AXIOMJV’s commitment to sponsor the robotics team. We’re watching their progress with both anticipation and excitement.” — Tendayi Munyebvu, Programme Director at AXIOM JV
Now ranked 4th in the UK, Technically Wired are setting their sights even higher - on the global finals in South Korea.
But for now, the next stop is London’s Copper Box Arena - 80 teams. Two days. High-stakes competition.
This really is learning brought to life - where ambition meets opportunity, and young people are given the platform to go further than they ever thought possible.
