Aldridge Attributes
We have a strong focus on enterprise across the Trust.
We want all our students to leave with the qualities that prepare them to be confident and ready for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead of them.
The Aldridge Attributes are fundamental to our mission – we believe that developing strength in each of these equips our community to be self-motivated, enthusiastic learners and empowers them for the future – this is the essence of an enterprising mindset.
The Attributes, developed by the Aldridge Foundation from Sir Rod Aldridge’s experience and beliefs, to help our students achieve in their education and acquire further vital skills for adult life.
They are:
Problem-Solving
Analysis. Solutions focussed. The ability to express and interpret challenges, concepts, thoughts, feelings, facts and opinions.
Creativity
Imagination. Innovation. The ability to look at things in a new way, and seek different solutions.
Risk-Taking
Proactivity. Optimism. Not being afraid to try something new or do something differently.
Determination
Goal-setting. Resilience. The movement towards a goal, and resilience to difficulties along the way.
Teamwork
Relatedness. Communication. A co-ordinated effort on the part of a team or in the interests of a common cause.
Passion
Autonomy. Enthusiasm. The drive to achieve and succeed.
A clear sense of the importance of social conscience permeates throughout all of the above attributes.
