Aldridge Schools ReOpening
Aldridge Education fully understands and shares the Government’s desire to see students return to education. All of our children deserve the right to a full and empowering education and, for some, the need to be in a safe and nurturing environment and closing existing gaps in attainment is particularly critical. As our schools are all situated in areas of greater deprivation than the national average, we are keen to facilitate this return to face to face education when this becomes possible.
We expect to meet the Government’s timeline for partial and gradual reopening of our schools, which can be found on the Department for Education’s website. Sudell Primary School will commence the reopening process on 1st June 2020. This will involve preparatory set-up, planning and training and will see students welcomed back into the building by Monday 8th June.
Aldridge secondary schools will prepare for reopening to students in Years 10 and 12 from Monday 15th June with planning, training and set-up taking place prior to that date.
We need to be clear, however, that this is subject to very clear imperatives for us as a trust:
- The safety and wellbeing of our people – our staff and students – is of paramount importance to us.
- We need to be assured as a trust that an appropriate current and updated risk assessment is in place and will be upheld by senior leaders at each site.
- Our senior leaders need to be content that preparation is done and that all reasonable measures have been put in place to mitigate risk to both staff and students.
- We expect to continue to listen to the views of other key external stakeholders and to consider their views carefully as we proceed.
Details of our schools’ reopening plans will be published for parents and carers on their individual websites. Please select and follow the link below:
